Cookies

What gets stored in your browser when you come here, and what you can do about it.

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser so as to recognise it on the next request. This page says which ones the Club Atletismo Benidorm site uses, which need your permission and how to change your mind.

What is stored here is answered for by Club Atletismo Benidorm, tax number G03894631, of Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor, calle Foietes s/n, 03502 Benidorm (Alicante), email info@clubatletismobenidorm.com. What it does with personal data that does not come out of a cookie is in the privacy policy.

You decide, and you decide first

The first time you arrive a notice appears, run with Cookiebot, where you choose what you accept. Until you answer, nothing loads but the essentials: no measurement, no third-party content. Refusing takes exactly as long as accepting and changes nothing about what you can read here.

Your answer is kept for a year. To change it, open «Configurar cookies» at the foot of any page: you can accept what you refused or withdraw what you accepted, without explaining yourself and without losing anything.

The ones that cannot be switched off

These are technical: without them the site cannot do what you ask of it. That is why the law allows them without asking permission.

  • CookieConsent — stores what you have accepted, so you are not asked again on every page. It lasts a year and is set by Cookiebot (Usercentrics A/S, Denmark).

  • club-atletismo-benidorm-session — keeps you signed in to the members' area. It expires after two hours of inactivity.

  • XSRF-TOKEN — stops another site submitting forms in your name.

  • A remember-me cookie, only if you tick «remember me» when signing in.

The last three only appear if you go into the members' area or the management panel; the informative part of the site does not need them.

The measurement ones, if you accept them

The club uses Google Analytics 4 to know which pages get read, from what kind of device and where people leave the site. It is there to write the site better, not to know who you are: it is not matched against your membership record and no decision about you is taken from it. There are no advertising or remarketing cookies.

  • _ga — tells one browser from another. Two years.

  • _ga_ followed by the property identifier — keeps the state of the visit. Two years.

They are handled by Google Ireland Limited on the club's behalf, and may end up on Google servers in the United States under the adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google does not receive your name or your email address, and the statistics are kept for fourteen months at the most.

If you accepted and think better of it, go back to «Configurar cookies». You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, which takes you out of measurement on any site.

Google Tag Manager is not a cookie

The measurement scripts are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which is a container: it sets no cookies by itself, it only decides what loads and when — and here, only after you accept. If the club puts something new in that container, it will be declared on this page before it starts working.

The route maps come from Wikiloc

The routes page shows each track on a map served by Wikiloc, which may set cookies of its own. That is why it does not load until you accept third-party content: refuse, and you get the link to open the route on Wikiloc instead. What Wikiloc does with those cookies is explained in its privacy policy.

The same goes for links out to Instagram, Facebook or Google Maps: the moment you leave here, their terms apply and not ours.

And, quite apart from all this, your browser

Whatever you choose here, your browser can block cookies or delete the ones you already have:

If you block the technical ones too, the public part still reads the same, but the members' area will not be able to keep your session and you will not get in.

Changes

When what the site loads changes, this page changes. The version that counts is the one published here.
